As you may well be aware Whitemoor Allotments suffered a devastating burglary on Wednesday 26th February, losing a huge amount of its equipment from two secure containers. The onsite shop and a number of gardens were also targeted from which more equipment was stolen and mindless criminal damage was done.
Unfortunately we don’t see any of our stolen equipment being returned any time soon and we have had to have a lot of expensive work done on our damaged buildings and containers but crimes such as this should not go unnoticed.
People need to be made aware of this type of crime happening, especially local residents and surrounding communities plus other allotment sites that could potentially be targeted.
Read the Whitemoor article in the Nottingham Post explaining more.
We ask all allotment holders to please continue to be vigilant at all times, ensure all keys are kept safe and used by allotment holders only and report anything suspicious to a member of the committee.
Many thanks for you continued support and help.
